Internal research internships

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) of the University of Žilina (UNIZA) opens an unique opportunity for first- and second-year students of accredited Master’s study programmes: to actively engage in the faculty’s research and development activities from the very beginning of their graduate studies. Through the platform of internal research internships "FEIT Internships", students can collaborate with leading research teams at FEIT UNIZA and directly participate in innovative projects in electrical engineering, information technologies, communication systems, photonics, artificial intelligence, and other emerging disciplines developed across our research units. The FEIT internships are designed to support the development of professional skills, critical thinking, and research independence, while providing students with hands-on experience in science and research beyond the standard framework of formal coursework and conventional university education.

New opportunities for our students

  • work on specific research tasks under the guidance of experienced faculty members and researchers
  • become familiar with modern laboratories, instrumentation, and research methodologies
  • contribute to the dissemination of results through journal and conference publications
  • gain deeper orientation in their field and prepare for writing final theses or engaging in competitive grant projects

Objectives and benefits of FEIT Internship

The main objective of the programme is to motivate students to engage with research teams and enable them to:

  • actively work within an academic and technologically oriented environment
  • develop research, analytical, and technical competencies
  • connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience
  • become acquainted with modern laboratories, technologies, and research tools
  • build critical thinking skills, solve real-world problems, and collaborate in teams
  • establish professional connections and receive feedback from experienced researchers
